24 Campbell Hill

In the classic Maine grand- cottage style, this stately home offers the refined elegance, craftsmanship and quality of the past. Built in 1904 for the Campbell family, and without change until 2015, you will not find a more authentic residence. The main stairway is illuminated by stained glass windows in addition to bay windows overlooking the gardens at the front of the house and the 9 leaded glass windows that bring in even more light in the dining area and throughout. The entire first floor has 9' ceilings and refinished maple flooring with a herringbone pattern at the points. The purposeful butler's pantry includes plenty of storage in glass cabinet doorfronts and an original dumbwaiter! Four large bedrooms and full bath complete the 2nd floor. A long list of maintenance and upgrades include 4-flue chimney rebuilt and relined, new furnace and on-demand water heater and extensive structural work to assure another century of life. Full electrical upgrade to code on all floors offers modern safety while all fixtures and wall plates were completed with period replicas. Shed-style addition at the back of the home is plumbed and insulated for an additional bath and living space.
